Welcome! Let’s do this.
Coming Soon - How to edit audio in SoundTrap and align it with video editing for a cleaner sound.
*Note - you may see that Filmora says it’s a “free trial”. Don’t worry! You can use it’s FULL capabilities without paying a cent! Your video will just render with a watermark at the end. If you want to pay for the software to not have a watermark, it is still cheaper than using Adobe products.
Bonus Module - GarageBand Part Tapes
Note - you need to have an iPhone and headphones that have a microphone to do this. The Apple headphones that came with your phone works great for this! GarageBand is a FREE app for Apple users.
In this module, we’ll cover how to:
Import audio to GarageBand
Level audio and export part tapes
Setting up your audio workspace.
Instructions for Ensemble Member Submissions
Make sure you record with headphones in. You need to have your part tape playing so that you can stay on track with the “group”.
Check your surroundings. There should be no other sounds on video besides your voice/instrument. That includes the backing track (which should be in ear).
Easiest way to record is to use one device for your headphones and another for recording. For example, you can listen to your part tape on your phone and record on your Chromebook.
Don’t record too far away from the mic. You should have about a 12 inch distance for voice and most instruments. Louder brass instruments can probably be a little farther away.
When you listen back, don’t panic. It’s going to sound awkward because it’s only your voice/instrument - you WILL NOT stick out once everyone submits their videos.
Before submitting your video, make sure the entire thing recorded.
