FAQs about #attentiongetters - No, I don’t “teach them these” or make them do them. Each class comes up with a unique list, big or small, for the year. It’s one of our day 1 activities. One class only had like 2 and that was fine. - “Why don’t you just yell or clap to get their attention?” I teach singing. Yelling isn’t healthy or productive. The clap everyone knows from elementary school gives me anxiety lol. 👏 👏 👏👏👏 - “Why are you using jingles?” Again- the kids come up with things within the parameters. The parameters are as follows: Needs to be something the majority of the class knows OR something short enough that they could learn it. Needs to have a short call and response. - “Why post them?” This account first started as a #teachertok account to show my families what we do. I post it for my students because it’s fun and then download the videos to post in Google Classroom . The minute a video veers into the wrong side of the internet, I’m turning off comments and or blocking.
